Why the Berlin British School?
The Berlin British School (BBS) is an independent private school that has officially been granted the status of an authorised Ersatzschule by the Berlin Senat. At BBS we are experienced in combining the best of British, international and German education to students aged 2-18 from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. The BBS offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
The IBDP is often described as the gold standard of international education and is recognised by universities worldwide, including those in the UK, USA and Germany.
Appropriate facilities for each year group
The school is based on three sites with facilities appropriate to each age group:
Early Years– a programme of structured learning for ages 3-6 (Toddlers, K1, K2 and K3). A secure woodland environment with spacious outdoor play area and recently refurbished classrooms.
Primary School – the site is located within easy reach of public transport (Olympia Stadion S-Bahn) and forms a hub for shuttle buses to the other sites. A full complement of teaching facilities is available for all 6-11 (Grades 1-5) including dedicated music, ICT rooms, a library as well as an indoor gymnasium and a large assembly hall. The school is also an authorised (genehmigte) bilingual Ersatzschule.
Secondary School – this school is located in a woodland campus for ages 12-18 (Grades 6-12) leading to the International Baccalaureate Diploma. The school is also an authorised (genehmigte) bilingual Ersatzschule corresponding to the form of an Integrierte Sekundarschule.
