1. An overview of data protection
Data collection on our website
Who is responsible for the data collection on this website?
The data collected on this website are processed by the website operator. The operator’s contact details can be found in the website’s required legal notice.
How do we collect your data?
Some data are collected when you provide it to us. This could, for example, be data you enter on a contact form.
Other data are collected automatically by our IT systems when you visit the website. These data are primarily technical data such as the browser and operating system you are using or when you accessed the page. These data are collected automatically as soon as you enter our website.
What do we use your data for?
You only need to provide us with the personal data which is required for processing your request or for carrying out our services and any associated contractual rights and obligations, and which we are legally obliged to obtain.
The data is collected to ensure proper provision of our website. The law enforcement authorities state that we are obliged to provide information about the data in individual cases, if it is required for law enforcement purposes, to avert danger, to fulfil the legal duties of the authorities protecting the constitution or the military counter-intelligence service or to enforce intellectual property rights. The data can also be used to analyse your user behaviour in anonymised form.
Who will receive my data?
At Berlin British School gGmbH, only those individuals will have access to your data who need it to carry out your request and our contractual and legal obligations. Service providers used by us (e.g. hosting of this website) may also process data for these purposes provided they maintain confidentiality and comply with our data protection instructions.
Will data be forwarded to a third party country?
Data will not be forwarded to countries outside the EU or the EEA (so-called third countries) when you visit this website or when carrying out your request. In special cases it may be possible for your data to be transmitted outside the EU or the EEA. However, in these cases , you will be separately informed in advance.
How long will my data be stored?
We process and store your personal data as long as it is necessary for fulfilling our contractual and legal obligations. Once the data is no longer required for fulfilling contractual or statutory obligations, it is deleted regularly, unless any further processing (limited) is required for adhering to commercial and tax retention periods, such as the German Commercial Code and the German Tax Code.
Do you carry out automated decision making, including profiling?
Generally, we do not use automated decision making, including profiling, according to Article 22 DSGMO.
What rights do you have regarding your data?
You always have the right to request information about your stored data, its origin, its recipients, and the purpose of its collection at no charge. You also have the right to request that it be corrected, blocked, or deleted. You can contact us at any time using the address given in the legal notice if you have further questions about the issue of privacy and data protection. You may also, of course, file a complaint with the competent regulatory authorities.
Information about your right of objection
a) Right of objection in individual cases
You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data for reasons arising from your particular situation. This is provided that data processing is in the public interest or on the basis of a balance of interests. This also applies to profiling. In the event of a contradiction, we will stop using your personal data, unless we can prove compelling reasons worthy of protection for using the data which outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms, or your personal data is used to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.
- b) Objection to processing your data for public relations purposes
In some individual cases we process your personal data for our public relations work. You have the right to object at any time, including in the case of profiling to do with direct mailing. In the event of an objection, we will stop the use of your personal data for these purposes. The objection can be made in any form at any time and should be addressed to our data protection officer at the address below.
Analytics and third-party tools
You can object to this analysis. We will inform you below about how to exercise your options in this regard.
