The children have been celebrating Book Week this week with the theme Around the World in Picture Books. The week began with a great assembly where children saw books and photographs from all 52 nationalities represented by the children and staff at Primary School. Each class had a selection of picture books set in different countries and had a challenge to complete. They were to try and read at least two books from each continent and record in their specially designed ‘Passport’. Tuesday saw the traditional parade of book characters with some exceptionally creative costumes. Wednesday was the day that Secondary teachers and students visited us and read a story in each class and finally on Thursday we had visiting teachers read to the classes. The children have thoroughly enjoyed the books, many of which were purchased especially for this event and will be available in the library from next week.
