We have had a fantastic book week at Primary School, packed with lots of fun activities. Our featured author this year has been Judith Kerr, the well-known, author and illustrator of ‘The Tiger who came to Tea’, ‘Mog the Cat’, ‘When Hitler stole Pink Rabbit’, and many other books aimed at children and young adults. Now 94 years old and living in London, Judith Kerr was actually born in Berlin, and her youthful work included sketches of her daily life in Berlin, which has formed the basis of one of the projects the children have undertaken this week – to produce a sketch of their daily lives in Berlin. The finished products will eventually be bound into a book which will go in the Library as a reminder of our week.
After a great Assembly on Judith Kerr, the children have enjoyed a range of activities , culminating in our fantastic ‘Book Character Parade’ on Thursday, and our book swap on Friday. Hundred of books have been donated to the ‘swap’ and the children have eagerly awaited choosing some new favourites today.
